With Christmas coming really quickly, I'm trying to think of gift to give away to family and friends. We don't have very much money (I'm sure we're not the only ones) and wondering what everyone thinks of giving home made gifts. Some I've come up with so far are photo albums, personalised stationary (calendars etc), Christmas goodies (brownies, cookies etc), hand made soaps, and clothing our 2 young nieces. I'm a very creative person, I'm into scrapbooking, crafts and cooking. I want to know whether others think that gifts like that will be appreciated. Personally I love hand made gifts but not so sure other's do too. Any thoughts are appreciated and other gift would be great too.
We have a lot of people to buy really. In my family there is my parents, 3 sisters, 1 brother and I always give something to my paternal grandparents too as I'm very close to them. On my partners side there is his parents, 1 sister, her husband and 2 young daughters, his other sister and her partner, and his nan and 3 cousins. We have a lot to do with them so would like to give them something small each. He also has his other nan, 2 aunties and a cousin. I don't think it's necessary to buy them as we don't know them very well but they usually buy something us and I don't want to feel unnappreciative by not giving something back. Unfortunately they're the kind that count a gift on monetary value but don't seem to understand that we just don't have plenty of money to spend on gifts so not sure what to give them. I was thinking maybe just a hamper, ie. basket/box filled with goodies to share.
Btw, by home made I mean properly made items, not just bits of paper stuck on a cardboard box or something. I intend to put time and effort in to make the gifts as well as possible. Also, I don't know how to crochet and I'm not the best knitter either so those aren't really options. I think we'll still have to buy some gifts either way, our brother in law doesn't like anything that doesn't have "Holden" on it lol.

My grandparents are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary soon and I am stuck on ideas. The family is getting together to get them something big, but I want to get them something extra. I am very artsy and would love to make something, or at least have a hand in personalizing it.
One idea I had thought of was a photo book (like you can get from shutterfly) with images and memories of the last 60 yrs. But my grandpa doesn't like to have all these "useless photos and photo albums" lying around so that's out. (how anyone could live without photos I have no idea!:) but hey). Does anyone have any other thoughts? I don't mind spending a bit but want it to be something special and unique. Help! Thanks!

Hi all,
I'm an amature photographer and I'm looking into doing a family event in my home town, Harlow in the UK. If anyone would be interested in anything like this then please reply.
The idea would be to select a location (maybe once a month) and take my camera and hopefully gather a crowd of people via online advertisement and just take photos, the public can then decide to have their photos emailed to them to use as they wish but must be aware that I will also use these snaps my own portfolio and advertisement if I wish. All the correct forms will need to be filled out prior to taking any photos.

I'm making a special someone a personalised pressie this year - a home made diary with a week on each page. I'm including small photos I've taken and would also very much like to put a shortish quote at the bottom of each page. Means I need about 52. Could you share your favourite short quote - from a book or just something you've heard and appreciated? Thanks in advance.

I live in Texas, and my best friend lives in Michigan. Her birthday is FAST approaching, and I need a great idea! She loves to dance and have a good time. She's not too much of a party girl though. She lives with her parents. She likes those throwing knives but I already got her one xmas. She is sexy and beautiful/ She loves to take pictures. She drives like a maniac! She's my best friend and I have no idea what to do. I wanted to make one of those photo blankets, but they are a little on the expensive side, and I don't have that much money. We've already done build-a-bears, and I've previously gotten her a Cosmo subscription, a personalized romance novel, slipper things, jewelry, lotions and bath stuff. I was thinking of sending flowers, but I just didn't think it as incredibly personal. Please help! I need some really creative ideas; I'm fresh out!
